Fruit farming

Old species – traditional fruit growing – oneness with nature

We have decided to honour the tradition by preserving the old tall-trunk tree meadow orchard started by our grandfather at the end of the 19th century. At present the trees in our orchard are about 40 years old, and every year we add some new saplings.

We carry on the fruit farming heritage by growing old apple varieties such as Belle de Boskoop apple, "Gorenjska voščenka”, "Bobovec”, Reinette apple, "Carjevič”, and others. There is a smaller amount of pear varieties in the orchard, i.e., Tepka pear, Perry pear, Williams pear. We also grow cherries, apricots, peaches, and walnuts.

The tall-trunk tree orchards cover 10% of our farmland. We are focused on naturally grown produce so no fertilizing is used in the cultivation of fruit trees.

Apples from our orchards are available every year in September and October, whereas pasteurized apple juice, apple vinegar, apple chips, and dried apple slices are available year-round.
